My brother Ryan came to town last Thursday night for a wedding. This was a great chance for all of us to spend some quality time with him and for him to see how big Meg has gotten. Things have changed a little bit since the first time Ryan met Meg during Thanksgiving last year. She used to never cry when he held her. He thought he had a special power and kept rubbing it in my mother's face the entire holiday season, but that power has vanished. I think he got his feelings hurt a little bit because Meg cried, mainly whined, when she got bored with him. He says her attention span has dwindled a little bit. I told him not to worry about it and that he just needed to get in her routine. He is a good uncle, but we do know that it takes a little more than holding her now to keep her happy. She likes to play a little bit more now and we have to switch things up a little bit sometimes to keep her interested.
We did have a great time while he was here. Ryan and I played golf Friday with some friends/customers of the bank. Then we all went out Friday night. Nothing too crazy, but Ashley and I do not get to do that as often as we used to so it was a treat. I woke Ryan up early Saturday morning to play basketball with my Saturday morning group. I think it did both of us some good.
Ryan had his wedding to go to Saturday night so Ashley and I stayed home and caught up on some rest. I think both of us were asleep before 10:00. A lot of our time Saturday and Sunday was spent just visiting. Monday, Meg and I took a half day to spend some more time with Ryan before he left. Meg and Ryan eventually figured each other out over the weekend and I am sure that he enjoyed himself. We sure enjoyed his time here in Nashville.
