Yesterday was Meg's first Halloween so Cole and I wanted to fit as much into the day as Meg would allow. Just in case you can not tell from the pictures, Meg was a little Indian.
We took Meg to downtown Franklin to Pumpkinfest. There were trick or treaters of all ages up and down the street. There were booths with food, clothes, crafts and everything in between. We saw a huge pumpkin and painted a little pumpkin. We got our first tattoo (sorry Mimi and Lele), it was only because she never would have stayed still enough to have her face painted, maybe next year. We also entered our first contest...and lost our first contest. The costume contest age group was from 0-6 and there were over 50 entries so we really never had a shot.
Then we put Meg in the car, and drove around and took care of some things in hopes of Meg taking a nap. It was successful. She probably for about a 45 minute nap in the car which recharged her for the evening.
Then we drove down to Spring Hill to the Hayes's house. Meg was the youngest there at 11 months and there at one time were 5 other kids, the oldest two being 5. So it was lots of madness and Meg just took it all in. There were two cheerleaders, Dorothy, a ninja turtle (not ever pictured) and a phantom. So needless to say, Meg had plenty of entertainment. The kids ate and played when we got there and we tried to get some decent pictures and then at about 6 we went trick or treating. Meg did great and made it until 7. She got tired of seeing all the other kids run around though about 6:45 so then we had to get her out of her stroller.
At 7 we headed back to the house with Heather and Micah. We ate chili and Meg ate macaroni and cheese and fruit and a muffin (she did not eat earlier with the others). Then we all visited for awhile and headed back home about 8pm and Meg was out! She slept until about 7:30 this morning, but since we "fell back" last night that was only 6:30. It definitely could have been worse though.
Today we went to church and afterwards we paid for Meg's great behavior yesterday. We went to Ruby Tuesdays and she fussed and threw food and showed out the entire time we were there. We hope this is not a new stage she is going through.
On a totally unrelated note, Meg is OBSESSED with her belly button. She sticks her hand down her shirts to find and play with it. She stretches out the neck to everything here lately. If it is not too cold we just take her shirt off. This stage is cuter than the fit throwing at lunch for sure.
