Babysitters, Bars and Basketball

Meg has been at daycare for a total of seven days now and she finally brought home her first real cold. It is nothing serious, but it did make us nervous enough to take her to the doctor on Saturday morning...Doc said she would live. It did put in some anxious moments into my Saturday afternoon though. See, we had a night out on the town planned for last night and if Meg was not well then we would have been staying home. Since she was fine, we got to have another first in Meg's life last night...her first babysitter. If you had been a fly on the wall last night when she arrived, you would have easily noticed that we had not done this before. I think she knew everything about Meg, the TV, and the food we had in the pantry by the time Tricia and Phillip picked us up. She was probably happier to see us leave the house than we were to get out on the town.

We learned nights out in the big city are not the same when you have a child at home. You try to relax, which think I pulled off a little better than Ashley, but I still worried about Meg a little bit. On top of that, everyone kept getting on me because I was yawning up a storm by 10:00. Take away the worry and the yawning, i think that last night was a success. Good times were had by all at the Tin Roof. The band was good and thanks to me we had prime standing space right in front of the stage. (Just a side note...if you know a younger couple that spent the entire night at the Tin Roof making out last night, please tell them we all enjoyed talking about them for the hour and a half they were joined at the lips.)

Papa Chuck and Granna Lele came in town on Saturday to go to the Brad Paisley concert and Granna Lele brought a present for Meg. She now has her very own cow bell. This was a perfect gift to use on Sunday during the SEC Championship Game. Meg actually really enjoys her new toy even if her daddy is not a big fan. She loves to hear it ring when we shake it and her face lights up a little bit...pretty crazy. We watched the game with Meg today and she helped cheer on her mama's bulldogs. They won and are now going to 'the dance'.
