The Boren Family comes to the big city

Laura, Ben and Grace Boren came to visit us for the weekend. Grace is 2 years old and she provided a small glimpse into the future. We stuck around the house on Friday night so we could catch up. Grace helped to keep us entertained. She has two big dogs at home, but she had a real treat when she got to our house and saw Hurley. She chased Hurley around the whole night. After we ate dinner we sat on the back porch and tried to tire Grace and Hurley out by throwing them balls to chase and getting Grace to race Hurley to the top of the hill. It did not work. Meg went down like usual at 8:00, which is when Grace usually goes to bed, but since she was in a new place it was not as easy for Grace. Ben went upstairs early to put her to bed and fell asleep himself.

Saturday morning we were up early and Ben and I went off to play golf. Ashley, Laura, and the girls went to the pool. They were there and home by 10am for the girls to nap, and after an hour and a half in the pool they were worn out at slept well! Then they went to lunch and to Target. Not sure why they went, but 75 dollars later Ashley was out of there. Ben and I had a great time. We both played great and beat my friends Quincy and Charlie pretty badly in a little scramble competition. Even though we played good, I think Ashley and the girls made the right decision. Saturday was the hottest day of 2009 (heat index of 110).

We went to dinner at La Paz Saturday night. It is a great spot for Mexican if you are in Nashville. When we got home we put the girls to bed and we all spent some adult time together catching up and playing Apples to Apples. Ashley and I got smoked at our own game. We had such a great time and really think Grace needs a house dog for Christmas because she LOVED Hurley.
