Easter Travels

Meg and I left after school last Thursday and headed straight for Jackson. We got there in time for dinner and some playtime before bed. Friday morning we took off to Brownsville to visit Grandparents, get haircuts, and we ate at the Kreme Kastle. Then we came home and Meg refused to nap so we went to the Richardson's house to visit Molly and Sidney. Meg and Sidney had not seen each other in a while so it took them a while to warm up to each other. The girls had so much fun eating pretzels, playing in the tent and with Sidney's plethora of other toys. Then Friday night Cole arrived and we made plans to get up and go to Memphis to the Zoo on Saturday. We also dyed Easter eggs, which was quite an experience if you will notice in the pictures Meg loses her clothes quickly. I told everyone to be up and ready by 7:30 and somehow we were out the door soon after. We made a pit stop for gas and breakfast, but were at the ZOO when it opened at 9am. We had a great time. It was such a nice morning and there was hardly anyone there until we got ready to leave around 12. After the zoo we ate lunch at Houstons, Meg was exhausted and slept in peoples arms most of lunch. Then we came home, napped, and got ready for church (not successful here, because we got there Saturday night and there was no room for us). So Saturday night we went back over to the Richardson's house and played and ate dinner with them and another couple.

Sunday morning the Easter bunny had come to visit Meg and she had so much fun hunting over and over again for her eggs. She also had fun banging them together and cracking them. She loved being able to put them back in her basket. Then we went to Brownsville for Easter lunch with the Williams side of my family and then left straight from there for Little Rock.

Luckily Meg was exhausted so she was great in the car, we arrived in Little Rock, saw what the Easter bunny had brought Meg there (funny how that happens) and then played outside and ate hamburgers for dinner. On Monday morning we got up and went to The Wonder Place in LR, it was the neatest play place. Meg had the best time there was so much for her to play with and explore. After that, we ate lunch, shopped and then came home for nap time. Later that afternoon, some friends came by to see Meg and brought her a Tea set and a stuffed poodle to play with. Mimi has the sweetest friends. That afternoon/evening we played outside until time to eat dinner, have baths and put Meg to bed. Tuesday Pop joined us for more shopping around LR and a family lunch before coming home to cook ribs. Pop makes the best ribs. Meg and the rest of us stayed outside and had some more visitors come and play with us. Meg even enjoyed her first bike ride (thank you Becca for letting us borrow it). We got up early, had breakfast and started our long journey back to Nashville. Overall, I think it was an excellent Spring Break trip down I40 and back!
