Friday night we went to eat Mexican and then to Sweet CeCe's (I recently discovered their yogurt is 2 for 1 for pregnant women) for yogurt and ended the night at the park in our neighborhood with Meg. Saturday morning Meg work up at the crack of dawn, a little before
6, so by 7 we were at the pancake pantry eating breakfast. It is a little bit of a haul now that we live in Franklin, but it was definitely worth it. We went last 4th of July weekend and I think it is a tradition we would like to continue if we are in town. Then we came home and spent the morning at the pool. After that we grilled out at home and Meg and I rested. There are some pictures from Saturday with Meg's floaties on. Jsut in the last week has she started wantung to wear them some and she will get brave and kick around in the water right around someone every now and then. This is the first time Cole was there so I was not alone and able to get pictures.
Saturday night we took a huge risk for us. We took Meg to the Nashville Sounds game. We got there about 7:30 (about an hour late) and stayed through the fireworks. We did not get home until about 10:30. Kara and Barrett went as well, but we did not all sit together because we could not decide what to do and did not buy our tickets until about 4 that afternoon. Meg was really well behaved. She met lots of friends and was given 2 glow in the dark bracelets by separate "grandparents", someone else's obviously. Then when it was time for the fireworks, we moved down and sat with KK and B. Meg did great, she watched them and was not upset by them at all. Then I had her pj's in the car. So we took her home and straight to bed.
Sunday, we went to church and brunch. Then to Home Depot, for some reason Cole had decided to spend his 4th doing home improvement projects. Which actually turned out to be great because Meg was so tired from the night before and slept all afternoon long. After her nap we went to the pool that evening and then came home for Cole to finish putting together the patio table and chairs we bought at Home Depot. Then Meg went to bed at her normal time but, she did not stay. There was too much noise with the fireworks going off everywhere. So she was up again until after 10.
Monday, we went to the pool for the morning and KK and B joined us and then we dined on Chick fil a on our new patio furniture. Then Cole went to play golf and I washed some clothes and rested. Then we played outside in the afternoon with Meg and Hurley. It is really shady in our front yard in the afternoon and it was a nice change of scenery.
We had a great 3 day weekend and it was nice to have Cole home the extra day. I am so lucky to have this great new neighborhood with a park and a pool for quick, easy, and free entertainment. Without it I am not sure how Meg and I would make it through the summer...oh yeah and having my sister Kara around has not hurt either.
