1 week...

Our first week of a family of four has been filled with many visitors, lots of good food (thanks to those who fed us), a lot of melt-downs (mainly by Meg), and even a few outings (you know us we cannot stay at home). Tomorrow morning I venture into the day alone, as Cole is going back to work. But, no worries my mom will be here Tuesday and Wednesday and I have lined Meg up a playdate for Thursday. No plan yet for Friday...but I will surely survive :)

Little Sister:

Mary Clark is doing great, she has actually overall been the easier of the two to take care of...besides the hours of 2-4 am. We had to take her to the hospital on Wednesday for blood work to check for jaundice. Luckily all was well, so we actually have our first pediatricians appointment tomorrow. During the day all she really does is eat and sleep and is very content. In the evening she tends to want to eat more and lets you know when she hungry. She has also already been to Chick fil a, toys r us (see Big Sister part), Calypso Cafe, and McAlisters. She has no clue that she went to any of these placed though, because she slept the entire time. She already likes laying and looking at her mobile and can lay awake and content for much longer than Meg ever did. She is also a fan of her swing. Unfortunately she does get the hiccups often, but they do not always rattle her too much. But, the do keep her from sleeping. She had her first bath and Meg sat on the counter and watched intently. But, Meg was very disappointed because it was nothing like Splashfest 2010...which is her bath time. She finally decided today to start messing up clothes, and we are already on our third outfit. But, before today she has been a one outfit a day girl. She is so sweet and cuddly and we are enjoying every moment with her.

Big Sister:

First, thanks to my family for coming and taking care of Meg while we were in the hospital. I know she had a blast having all of your undivided attention before we brought the baby home. Overall, Meg is uninterested in Mary Clark. She just is dying for extra attention for herself. After being in the hospital, we sware she has gotten louder. We are not sure if this is true or after being in the quiet hospital we somehow forgot how loud she was. Before today she asked to hold her multiple times and freaked out every time. But, this morning they finally shared a few special moments together. Meg has 2-3 major meltdowns daily, with a couple of small ones in between. She definitely wants all of the visitors full attention and luckily they oblige. Many have ended up reading multiple books to her and holding her (thanks Molly and Heather). Mimi and Pop took her to Toys R Us to pick out a "big sister" gift. She came home with a pink car. The Pink Car is "Meg's Car" and no one else needs to bother touching it or interfering with her time in it. They also took her Friday morning to Peek a Boo play house and lunch which was great for her to be out of the house and have attention from 2 adults with no baby around. Meg often tries to play with/suck on the paci. She does this totally for attention and I do not really think this is something she will continue for long. She is protective of Mary Clark's things though. Hurley grabbed her blanket from the swing and Meg immediately yelled "NO HURLEY, its Clark Clark's".
